Itinerary
We start the tour with a scenic coastal drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, with the mountains on one side passing through Clifton and Camps Bay with a quick photo stop at Maiden’s Cove. From there, as we continue our coastal drive, we pass the Twelve Apostles mountain range and Llandudno, and have our next stop in the harbour of the fishing village, Hout Bay. Here you may charter an optional boat trip (for your own account) to Seal Island to view the Seals or shop for some souvenirs at the craft market. We then continue along one of the world’s most scenic drives, Chapman’s Peak which consists of 114 curves built over 7 years for which its engineers won an Ingenious Award with a stop to capture some of the amazing photo opportunities. We proceed through the town of Noordhoek with the option of stopping for amongst the finest roasted coffee at The Village Roast on this route. From there, we continue to Boulder’s Beach in Simonstown to see the African Penguin colony in their natural habitat where you may choose to enjoy a quick lunch at Harbour House or sit down to a full lunch at Sea Forth Restuarant. After lunch, we proceed to Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve, where you get to see how the land was many hundreds of years ago in its virgin state. Take the funicular (own account) or the footpath for a 10 minute walk up to the old Cape Point lighthouse We also stop at Cape Point, the meeting point of the cold Benguela and the warm Agulhas currents. At Cape Point, you can seize some of the amazing photo opportunities including a picture at the Cape of Good Hope sign post. On our return we pass through Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg where you can explore some interesting craft shops and the fishing harbour of Kalk Bay along with the photogenic and colourful changing rooms of St James and Muizenberg.
